About
I started the Phoenix EV web site with inspiration from AustinEV.org. They seem to be a gathering place for the Austin, TX area, as well as becoming a global source for electric vehicle information. I felt that this was a great concept, and that the Greater Phoenix Area could use a similar site.
There are opportunities to create a club for Arizona EV enthusiast and manufacturers of vehicles and conversion components. I am starting this on a shoestring budget. Primarily because I want my next vehicle to be an electric vehicle. I would prefer to be able to purchase an affordable electric vehicle from a reputable manufacturer, but I am not opposed to converting one of my cars.
I started this site to listen to your ideas and consolidate as much information about electric vehicles as I can. I am doing all of this because I want my family’s next vehicle to be an electric one.
I believe that we are way behind and have been lazy with our gasoline powered vehicles for far to long. Over 100 years on a technology that is powered by a finite resource seems kind of silly in hindsight. Now it is likely that petroleum based fuels will continue to climb in price until there is little demand for them.
Now, it is time for something new (or old, EVs were around over 100 years ago). This time, technology based on a power system that can gain fuel from wind, water, or solar power as well as the more traditional power sources like coal, natural gas and nuclear.
I want you to let me know what I can add to the site to make it more useful to you.
So, please enjoy the site and make my dream of owning an electric vehicle a reality.
